Few weeks ago on the 23rd April, the Earth Day Green Race was organised by students taking the GenNext breadth module - Environment, Society and Globalisation (ESG). The purpose of the event was to increase awareness among students and public members alike of the existence of Earth Day.
More than 50 undergraduates participated in the race. The participants were to move/run around the campus in order to complete different challenging tasks for example cycling, making paper butterflies, counting car parks at IHS, looking for clues in bottles, etc. There were 12 groups altogether, each having 4 members. Two of the groups were joined by IHS students.
Around 1.45 pm. Location: IHS building

Below is a photo of the Earth Day founder. Can you guess who?
Okay, this is Sir Gaylord Nelson. He was the principal founder of Earth Day in 1970
The clues we collected during the race.
The start of prize giving ceremony
Professor Dr Azman, lecturer of Environmental, Society and Globalisation presented prizes to winners and tokens of appreciation to participants.
Our prizes!
We won number 7.
Our group's flower! One of the tasks was to find and choose a flower hidden somewhere and then paint the pot. Nice choice of flower guys! :)
We received goodie bags too! Each bag has a bottle, a rain coat and a flyer about Earth Day. We, as a group, received a $30 voucher from Best Eastern. The prices were sponsored by HSBC.
We had fun participating the event. Congrats to winners and kudos to the organizers for successfully organizing an awesome race! We hope for more awesome events soon!
