Medical Jokes

Let a smile brighten up your day!!!

While making his rounds, a doctor points out an x-ray to a group of medical students.

As you can see, he says, the patient limps because his left fibula and tibia are radically arched.

The doctor turns to one of the students and asks, What would you do in a case like this?

Well, ponders the student, I suppose Id limp, too.- www.halfthedeck.com

Last Saturday, a group of lecturers and administrators came all the way from Kota Kinabalu to visit our Institute. They are from the School of Medicine, University Malaysia Sabah (UMS). They traveled by bus and had an overnight stayed in Limbang. Dr Mas Rina Wati welcomed them at the hall and show them what our Institute as well as the University offered. Then we brought them to see our new but unfinish building just behind the mosque. I am still not sure why they visited our Institute and will update you more on this. After that they planned to play volleyball game with the RIPAS Hospital staff. Our official cameraman on that day was Kenny. ...

UBD Preparing Candidates For MRCGP [INT] Examination

Tuesday, August 14, 2007 · 0 comments

A MRCGP [International] Examination Preparatory course took place at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) on August 10 and 11.

The objectives of the course were to prepare future candidates for the upcoming examination and also as part of the continuing education of the doctors.

The Membership of the Royal College Examination [International] (MRCGP [INT]) is a professional examination for doctors working in primary care (Outpatient Department in Brunei Darussalam) or as general practitioners in the region.

Brunei Darussalam was the second country in the world to be recognised as the host examination body for this prestigious examination.

According to Dr Hjh Rafidah Hj Gharif, the Coordinator of the MRCGP (INT) Examination in Brunei Darussalam, the examination preparatory course was the fourth course that had been run in Brunei Darussalam and the response from the candidates over the past years were that the course helped them in their revision and in their every day practice, as it exposed them to the experiential learning study techniques.

Up to November 2006, more than 30 doctors in Brunei have passed their MRCGP [INT] examination.

Participants were exposed to mock written and clinical examinations, and various study methods for the examination. The course was run by experienced senior MRCGP [INT] examiners.

This year, as in previous years, doctors who participated were from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Defence, and private doctors from Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, and Singapore and also from Saudi Arabia. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin

Farewell to Peter

Yesterday, we have a lovely lunch with all the staff family to say farewell to Peter. He will be flying tonight and will return to brunei in a few months. We have our lunch at the Lemongrass Restaurant in Kuilap. We ordered pandan chicken, green curry, tom yam soup, mango fish and tonghu salad. The food are YUMMY! Superb! Sampai menjilat jari...

Coincidently, Prof Mohd reveal that it is his birthday that day and we rush to the nearest bakery to buy him (using his own money..hehe..) a chocolate fudge cake. We all sing happy birthday to him and he seems to be pleased. Next will be Dr Salim's turn on 13th Aug. Keke..

Parking HORROR

First day of the semester started yesterday and the traffic was not as horrible as I expected. However in the afternoon, IM parking lot was terrible. Students plus staff parked their cars and I have to blocked someone in order to park. Students are strongly not allowed to park their cars here but seems that a few of them do not show their respect.

The aircons in the PBL basement rooms were down but the 3rd year students still smiles. Thats the spirit to success!!!
