THE Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah (PAPRSB), Institute of Health Sciences (IHS) hosted its second blood donation drive on January 30 at Universiti Brunei Darussalam's (UBD) premises.

The main purpose of the blood donation drive was to replenish the RIPAS blood bank and it was a part of the IHS student council's initiative to encourage everyone to make donating blood a significant and achievable new year resolution for 2013.

According to Deputy Dean of Administration of PAPRSB IHS, Rozita Hj Tamin, she felt very glad to see over 67 participants turned up for the drive, including the staffs of IHS, the public and UBD students.

She added that in order to promote the event, members of the Student Council sent out invitations to every UBD student, and several posters were also put up in Kuala Belait, Tutong which included shopping complexes.

The Senator of IHS Student Council, Zareena Amiruddin said although the number of participants for the blood donation was less than last year, which saw 80 participants, she still felt grateful to receive their contributions and the most encouraging part was that most of the participants were first-time donors. She also called out to more people to attend their next blood donation drive in the near future. The Brunei Times
