Good news and Bad news jokes

Doctor: I have some bad news and some very bad news. Patient: Well, might as well give me the bad news first. Doctor: The lab called with your test results. They said you have 24 hours to live. Patient: 24 hours! That's terrible! What could be worse? What's the very bad news? Doctor: I've been trying to reach you since yesterday.

Patient: I'm in a hospital! Why am I in here? Doctor: You've had an accident involving a train. Patient: What happened? Doctor: Well, I've got some good news and some bad news. Which would you like to hear first? Patient: Well... The bad news first... Doctor: Your legs were injured so badly that we had to amputate both of them. Patient: That's terrible! What's the good news? Doctor: There's a guy in the next ward who made a very good offer on your slippers.

A man goes to the doctor and says to the doctor:
"It hurts when I press here" (pressing his side)
"And when I press here" (pressing the other side)
"And here" (his leg)
"And here, here and here" (his other leg, and both arms)

So the doctor examined him all over and finally discovered what was wrong... "You've got a broken finger!

5th International Inter-Medical School Physiology Quiz 2007

From the student's eyes..

The quiz is a good exposure for us.
We learned not only more about physiology, but it was also a good chance for us to know where we stand in the region.

The medical students UMS were very nice and I must praise their hospitality.
We were picked up from the airport, and each country had a liaison officer.

We didn't know the format of the quiz and the types of questions...and we had to go first!
But we tried our best.
I'm sure with better training, the juniors will do better next year.
Not too bad for a start though...We managed to get 11th out of the 20 medical school teams.

Hmmm...UMS is a really pretty university.
On one side of the uni, you can see the sea...on the other, you'll see Mount Kinabalu.
So it's an eye-opener.

Although the whole day event made us really tired, at the end of the day, the whole experience is indeed an enriching one.

Cheers

Sukan Pesta Convo 2007

The Pest Convo Sukan Ria was succesfully held on the 10th of September 2007. IM and KBFC shared the same marque. Lots of staffs and some students came to the event. They also participate in some of the games. Such as the netball shooting, tug of war, giant slipper game, building words and many more. The children of all the staff also have the chance to participate in a colouring and puzzle competition. Our marque won 3rd place in the Landscape competition (where they have to build a landscape in front of their marque). Haiza and Hubby won the 'Straw building' and 'Catch the Ping Pong Ball game' representing IM. Salem and Hai won 2nd place in the ' Straw Building Competition' as well. It was a very enjoyable day for everyone!!! Another highlight of the day was Dr Mas and Dr Hanna from the Institute of Medicine won the lucky draw!! Very lucky indeed!!

His Royal Highness Prince (Dr) Haji Al-Mutadee Billah, the Crown Prince in his capacity as the Pro-Chancellor, launched the 19th UBD Convocation Festival last Saturday at Chancellor Hall, UBD. HRH also consented to view our exhibition booth where our lecturer, Nik Tuah, demonstrated a Blood glucose technique with Kenny as a patient!

In the afternoon, our cohort 2 students do free health check to the public and about more than 50 people turned up! Another health check was on Monday morning where cohort 1 and 2 joined forces to do the health check. It was really busy as the students who have classes at chancellor hall took the opportunity to have their health check and about 70 people registered. Amazing! One last health check will be on Tuesday afternoon from 2.30-3.30 (cohort 1) and 3.30-4.30 (cohort 2). All cohort 3 students are welcomed to come and help especially at the registration. The health check helps the students to improve their clinical communication skills with the public and also increase their confidence.
