Dr Ayub's Friends from UMS Visits IM

Some of Dr Ayub's friends from UMS came to visit IM last Saturday (10th May 2008). I was told that Dr Ayub brought them to the water village cruise. I heard they really enjoyed it!

This programme is part of the Inter-Institutional collaborative programme between the Institute of Medicine, UBD and Kagawa University, Japan. The programme is a course not only to address academic issues but also contains many fun activities such as

OBBD trip in Belalong and cultural exchanges.

The Institute is looking for

--> First Year students from the Institute of Medicine, UBD

--> To become volunteers to take part in this programme and to be paired up with one of the students from Japan as their "Buddy" during their stay in Brunei. This is to promote international liaison within the student community.

Breast Cancer Walk: Sunday, 4th May 2008

Some staffs (including Dr Fiza, Dr Tim, Nurol, Dr Ayub and Wife, Kenny, Izan, Haiza and Hubby) from the Institute of Medicine joined the Breast Cancer walk 2008. It was held at the Stadium Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. The colour of the day was pink!! It was a nice short and sweet walk, which took us about 20 minutes. We also saw Dr Syafiq and Dr Fazean joined the walk. It was fun!!!

Beware of SNAKES

Its the 'hot' season where you can see snakes slithering around the IM building. There was one spotted at the back entrance and another one yesterday found in the toilet bowl at the bottom floor's toilet. So be careful, eyes alert at all times. Try to avoid going in and out of the back entrance as many spotted around there. Try not to park your car around that area too.

We have called the estate to get rid of the snakes but no action has been taken yet. Hope they will catch it and we will be safe again.

Interview for New Students...

We had the interview for the new course, BSc Biomedical Science yesterday. All the students were very determine throughout. It went very smoothly!! Well done to everybody involved with organizing it. Good Luck to the students who are waiting for their interview results. Don't worry and Be happy!!
