UBD IHS BLOOD DONATION DRIVE
The Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah Institute of Health Sciences (IHS) hosted the UBD blood donation drive on Wednesday afternoon 26 September 2012 at the institution's premises.
The blood donation drive was a part of the IHS student council's initiative with that aims to involve not only the entire UBD campus, but also surrounding communities in a free health screening run by Bachelor of Health Science students and a blood donation drive by the RIPAS blood bank.
This event's theme "Give blood, give life" encouraged the public and UBD students to donate their blood for those in need. The blood drive was held in the afternoon and resulted in about 80 packs of blood donated by participants.
The first donor Muhammad Nabil, 23, from Unibridge department said this was his first time donating blood and he was informed of the event through Institute of Health Sciences' official Facebook's invitation.
He felt motivated to help people and hoped this kind of events will be held regularly. "In future, I will invite more friends to join such events again as it is significance," he added. The Brunei Times
