The IM Basketball Team Needs Your Support!

Tuesday, October 14, 2008 · 0 comments

The inter-faculty basketball tournament has been spurring up lots of excitement the past couple days, as the team representing IM has been regarded as one of the favorites even before entering the tourney.

The IM Basketball team currently features players from the upper cohorts; Chia Wei and Najib from Cohort 2, and Albert, Mike, Sky, Mohamed, Noh, and Jun representing Cohort 3.

Things got off to a slow start, with a loss to FBEPS I (48-43). The team used the loss to further discipline their game strategy and build a proper game plan.

Effort was no question, as there’s no doubt everyone put in 110% –especially with an amalgamation of anxiety and the desire to prove something substantial; that medical students DO in fact have a life and can school other people in sports, as well as a medical environment.

The second game helped to prove the latter, with a 63-28 victory over FBEPS II. The game was a showcase of great teamwork all around.

The stats of the game were so good they can't be listed on the internet. Either that or I don't have them readily available.

The IM basketball team is however suffering from a lack of support; as many players on the bench are trying their best to compensate for a lack of attendance from what should be, fellow classmates yelling and screaming in support for their beloved colleague-turned-athletes.

Come and join in on the fun and excitement! The IM Basketball team next plays against FASS on Friday, October 17 at 5PM.

We better see you there!
